the next best thing
This weekend, I decided to restretch my ears. After the trauma I endured back in August (my earring caught on a car door and ripped through my earlobe.. 9 stitches later, i have a battle-scar to remember my trip to boston) Putting my earrings back in took quite a bit of courage on my part because I knew the pain that I would be inflicting on myself in order to do this. I'm proud of myself for being so brave but it took quite a bit out of me.

Yesterday was Squirrel's 26th birthday and after spending a nice afternoon with my friend, Joe, a bunch of us took him to dinner. We laughed and ate at a wonderful little Italian restaurant and for a few brief moments, all my stress was gone... but its Monday morning, I'm back in the office, all out of strength and bravery, and back to hiding in my cubicle, waiting for the day to pass...

recap of weekend:
Thursday: Squirrel and I spent the afternoon/ Thanksgiving day dinner with my parents and grandparents. We drank, we laughed, we ate... my family is amazing. We went to a show that night where I saw so many old faces and met quite a few new ones.
Friday: Lunch with a few friends, met a guy at the restaurant who was a bit strange but overall a sweet character. Ran into him again later and he proved to be a very nice guy. Dinner with a different group of friends and after a long night on Mill Ave, somehow ended up at a party with a boy that had long since disappeared from my life. Strange twists of events are always welcome when it brings an old friend back into your life after a long absense. I guess you don't really miss people until they've been brought back and you wonder why you ever let them go in the first place...
Saturday: Spent the afternoon with Max and Caleb. ugh. Dave came to stretch my ears then the boys played a show with some old friends from Tucson. This entire weekend was filled with so many old faces... it was like one hug after another and that warm feeling you get inside when you see old faces smiling is irreplacable.
Sunday: Lunch and shopping with Joe, a fairly new friend who proves to be great company... then off to Squirrel's birthday dinner.
overall, I'd have to say that the long weekend was a success...
