looking for my missing piece

The worst thing in the world is when you start putting thought into who is thinking about you... and how often. Yes, I know this is such a female thing to do, but I have chosen to embrace my feminism and understand that I am as emotionally disturbed as the next woman, only I supress it better in public places... (sometimes).

Yes, folks, its true.. I am a disturbed woman today. Granted, I'm in a wonderful mood but I have people on my mind today... far away people that I don't get to see, I don't get to embrace, and I don't get to laugh with... and I wonder if these people ever sit around and think about me the way I think about them.

I constantly think about how much I want to travel... how much I want to visit all the far away faces for some time but financially, I can't do it and emotionally, I can't handle it.

See, I constantly have friends in town visiting me. I constantly have people who come through on their way to somewhere else, making the traditional pitstop to send their regards but as soon as they get here, they have one foot out the door. There is never enough time to say all the things I want to say and never enough time do show them everything I'd like them to see. I don't really know what I'm getting at here... I just know that I'm not content.

Your happiness is only what you make. Your situation is only as good as you make it... but here I am trying my best and I still always feel like there is something missing.

so, because I am feeling this way, I am going to recommend a children's book for everyone to read. Its a book that will remind you of everyone you've known that you've given a part of your heart to and received that very same thing in return. It's for anyone who has ever shared something special with someone and although they say 'distance makes the heart grow fonder', we all know that distance makes the heart feel weak. this book will remind you to stay strong... "Missing Piece" by Shel Silverstein. Pick it up. Its worth it.
