the love of travel
First and foremost, I must inform you how much I'm beginning to love this girl. She writes amazing things in my guestbook, she has touching entries in her own diary, and all-around, she's my neck-fat partner. How can you go wrong with that? Also, oddly enough, she spoke recently of her love for my Iggy. The very same day I read this entry, I had gone on a day-long hunt for a limited vinyl version of the Stooges self-titled album. I mean, what are the odds that we'd be consumed with this man's being on the very same day? ok so it may not be that unique but i still found it amusing...

In other news, I took a big step today. I attended an information class this morning about the beginning steps in becoming a flight attendant for a certain major airline. After it was over, I was set up for an interview. I went home and freshened up, returning feeling strong and confident. I sat through a 20 minute interview, feeling great about this new opportunity despite the HUGE cut in pay, the crazy hours, and the fact that I'd have to deal with TONS of people. In my mind, the free flight benefits were motivation enough so I stuck it out and tried my best.... but alas, my best was not good enough. I was not selected to start training as a flight attendant. I was OK with the decision they made until I walked out of the building and my mind started wondering... What kind of a moron doesn't get picked for basic training as a flight attendant?! This kind, obviously...

So, to keep my mind off my job situation, and my revoked travel priviledges (even though they weren't given), I have decided to drive to Las Vegas tomorrow with two friends to see the band that stayed with me last week. They've managed to keep in touch almost daily, and after some persuasive talk from the guys, I've decided to come up and see them in Las Vegas for a night while they play a show, and maybe hit up the town while we're at it. I somehow managed to recruit these two lady friends to come with me as a horrible "boys on the side" type roadtrip but well, without the lesbian black woman, the timid girl with HIV, or the murderous pregnant airhead or anything. (side note- if you haven't seen the movie, DON'T!) Anyway, back on track: We'll be traveling with very little cash, lots of good tunes, and only one destination... VEGAS, BABY! VEGAS!
